Extra care pharmacy saved my life
I am James Emodo (Not real names) a resident of Nasana in Wakiso district. I am a honey vendor and I have been doing this work for years.
Few years ago, I felt sickly and my health started deteriorating. I was later diagnosed with diabetes. This news left me devastated, to say the least.
It was like a death sentence and I thought I was going to die soon.
I worried for my family. How would they survive when I am gone?
I started buying metformin tablet Indian brand from a pharmacy that had been prescribed to me in a hospital but it did not help. The more I swallowed it, the more I lost weight. My life worsened and with time, I was straggling to work. My income reduced drastically.
The Pharmacy I was buying from Metformin tablet (Indian brand) was selling me a strip of 10 tablets at 2000 shillings.
I later on realized that the pharmacist had been overcharging me. I was paying sh2000 for a strip of tablets that cost sh700. It became expensive for me yet I had to take the drugs daily.
I resigned to fate. I was in bad shape and looked lifeless. I could barely walk or do anything for myself.
However, just as luck might have it, one day, I decided to go supply honey to Extra Care Pharmacy. The owner, Dr. Rehemah Gonsha got so shocked to see me wasted and looking life less.
She quickly commented on my weight loss and asked what the problem was. I narrated to her my predicament. She was touched.
She did not charge me for consultation but instead, offered to change the brand of medicine I was taking. She gave me Glyformin (metformin made in Cyprus) and Betanase (glimbeclamide). This first dose was given to me free of charge. Before the end of the week, I was back on my feet. I felt better and happy.
I have since gained weight and energy. My appetite has also improved. I no longer feel hungry every now and then or take water abnormally as I used to do. I also no longer go to urinate every now and then. I am a healthy man. My sugar levels dropped from 17.5mmol/L to 6.5mmol/L, which is normal. The medicine she prescribed for me is cheap and affordable. I regained my energy and now I am back to my work and taking care over family.
Better still, my business is in a good place now because I walk to different places to find clients without any challenges. I make money and can afford to eat healthy and take care over my family as well.
I continue to get medication from Extra care pharmacy because their drugs are affordable and effective. I buy Betanase at sh700 and Glyformin at sh2000. They have no side effects.
Dr. Gonsha donated to me a blood glucose-monitoring machine to keep track of my sugar levels.
Extra care pharmacy is my second family.
I thank the management for being kind, trustworthy and professional in every way. They sell genuine drugs. They also do not just dispense drugs but they counsel and follow up on their clients.
They have indeed resurrected my life and business.
